Permits and Inspections
Inspectors at the City of Marshfield conduct inspections of newly constructed and existing buildings and their component plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems to insure minimum standards to safeguard life, health and public welfare.
This process is accomplished by the inspector through regulation and control of the design, construction, quality of materials, use and/or occupancy, location and maintenance of all buildings, structures and related equipment throughout the city. The Development Services Department provides information to the public regarding building standards and available land uses by zoning classifications. The City provides inspection service under various public nuisance ordinances to assure public health, safety and welfare.
