The purpose of the Facade and Building Improvement Grant is to provide a resource to help businesses and building owners with their revitalization efforts to stimulate exterior building improvements in a targeted area and to encourage converting underutilized space into residential units or eating and/or drinking establishments in the downtown area.

Housing Repair Program
The City of Marshfield has an active Community Development Block Grant Revolving Loan Fund, called the Housing Repair Program. This is a program for ensuring the community’s ability to conserve, rehabilitate, and improve residential properties occupied by low-to-moderate income (LMI) residents.
The funds are part of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and may be used for:
- Rehabilitation of owner-occupied housing units
- Rehabilitation renter-occupied housing units
All occupants directly benefiting from the CDBG housing rehabilitation program must be at or below the CDBG posted income limit for their county. Central Wisconsin Economic Development Fund (CWED)
The Central Wisconsin Economic Development Fund (CWED) Revolving Loan Program works with entrepreneurs and their lenders to structure financing packages for start-up and expanding businesses to encourage economic growth in the area. CWED loans usually have low interest rates, reduced collateral requirements, and flexible terms.
Participating counties include: Adams, Forest, Juneau, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Oneida, Portage, Vilas, and Wood.
