Sign Permitting

The Marshfield Sign Code(Chapter 24 of the Municipal Code) is a regulatory document adopted by the City that is designed to govern the use, approval, construction, change, replacement, location and design of signs and related informational tools within the city. The Sign Code is not intended to and does not restrict, limit or control the permanent content or message of signs.

All new signs and face changes to a new face require a sign permit and can be applied for at our online permits and application software.  Signs that do not require a permit can be found in Section 24-05 of the Sign Code.

If you have any questions on if a sign or face change will require a permit please contact the Associate Planner – Zoning Administrator.
